I've been collecting minerals for
most of my life. I love diggin' in a rock pile and hangin' out with other rock hounds.
I'm a proud member of the prestigious
A. E. Seaman Mineral Museum
which is located at
Michigan Technological University,
Houghton, Michigan. The A. E. Seaman Mineral Museum has one of the greatest collections of Michigan and world
minerals in the nation

I love the Copper Country and
the people who live there. When ever
I get time off, I head for Calumet,
Michigan; my home away from home

Marquette Iron Range
I grew up in Ishpeming, Michigan, Yooperland USA on the world famous
Marquette Iron Range, which was discovered in 1844 by William Burt and his survey
crew. There were over 200 underground and open pit iron mines in and around Ishpeming, including silver lead mines, gold mines, slate mines and marble quarries. The famous Marquette Iron Range supplied the nation with its first high-grade iron ore. Nearly all of the cannons and iron rails used during the civil war were made from this high-grade ore. There are two huge open pit mines still operating in our area, the Empire
and its mighty brother the Tilden, which employ a large percent of the people in our area.
